The first week has gone by with the ad (late update i know…) and the results have so far been mixed.

The inital first push for the ad on the inaugural day promised great things. 8,060 page impressions is a hell of a lot on first glance, but, with a target of about 800,000, the 1% rate falls into seeming insignificance. There was however, one user who clicked on the ad, costing me $0.45…. This is a good thing because it demonstrates that the ad was noticed. However, 1/8,060 isn’t a particularly good take up rate.

For the page impressions to then drop off so dramatically is quite disappointing, but understandable as the initial surge will then have to even out to find an average number of pages per day.

It will be interesting to see if this becomes true over the course of the next week.
