Facebook ads: 30th March – 5th April

The third week of my on running ad campaign started well!

With around 4,000 page impressions, this was a great leap forward in the exposure that the ad would have.

However for the last 3 days of the week the ad didn’t appear. The bid that i’d placed was too low and meant that my ad wasn’t being chosen for the page impressions.

This could be an indicator as to where the ad idea on Facebook will be going. It is evident that if an individual can’t afford to pay more for their advert, they will naturally lose out as those who can afford it will get precedent.

This is of course, a great example of the laws of supply and demand. It will be interesting to see how much the ‘recommended bid’ changes over the course of the next few weeks, letalone the next 12 months.

This started at $0.61 and has in a month been raised to $2.69, about $0.65 a week. If this rate is to continue, private individuals wil have to bow to the presure of larger companies.

It seems even Facebook is succumbing to the lure of cold hard advertising cash!
